I’m seeing alot of bankruptcy lawyers coming out and saying that they are going to be finding a new line of work after October. It’s looking like the additional workload is going to be pretty rediculous.
Local bankruptcy attorneys say new, sweeping bankruptcy laws set to take effect on Oct. 17 should make it more difficult to file for bankruptcy. But it’s lawyers who may feel the biggest impact.
Jack Gooding, a bankruptcy attorney for Brock, Gooding and Mowery, with offices in New Boston and Texarkana, said the new laws are “not a few simple revisions.”
“It’s a complete rewrite … it’s going to change how bankruptcy operates,” Gooding said.
