Divorced and unemployed do i file?

    I am recently divorced and haven't recovered from that. I had a great job until last week when I found out it is being eliminated. I have a mortgage, car,one credit card and a student loan to pay.Currently all debits are up to date and my credit is good.It is very unlikely that I will find a job in this small town and if I do the pay will be minimal. How long do I wait to file and what kind do I file? What will I loose in personal property?   :(
