There are no limits on the total number of times you can file for bankruptcy in any state, but there are rules about how much time must pass between filings. These rules are federal. In other words, they are the same in Oregon as in every other state.
Filing for Chapter 7
If you want to use Chapter 7 bankruptcy, you must wait eight years after filing a previous Chapter 7 case in which you received a discharge of your debts. You must generally wait for six years after filing a Chapter 13 case. Howeve,r this rule doesn't apply if you received a Chapter 13 discharge in good faith, after paying back at least 70% of your unsecured debt through your repayment plan.
Filing for Chapter 13
The time limits are shorter for Chapter 13. You must wait four years after filing a prior Chapter 7 case to file for Chapter 13, or two years after filing a prior Chapter 13 case.
